Eucalyptus ‘Mountain Ash Gum’ (Eucalyptus regnans)

Description

Common names: Mountain ash gum, Swamp Gum, Stringy Gum, The Giant Gum.
A large and important timber tree that is widely used in building and in the paper industry grown in Victoria and Tasmania. It is one of the ‘half-barked ashes’ meaning that the bark is persistent on the lower trunk and very smooth. It is evergreen, and will flower from summer. It is one of the tallest trees reaching 90m +. Can be planted anywhere and trimmed to size or cut for firewood.
