Allium ‘Shallots’ (Allium ascalonicum)

Description

A perennial herb in the onion family, usually treated as an annual. Shallots differ also from onions, as the base of the shallot composes of about 12 small onion-like bulbs lightly attached together as opposed to regular onions with 1 large bulb. In fact, their growth habit resembles that of garlic most. Plant in well-drained soil in full sun protected by frosts and high winds.
